Sanjay Leela Bhansali is teaming up with Delhi-based designers for his upcoming film Padmavati, to design a look for the stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the film.
Ditching his regular collaborator Anju Modi, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is teaming up with Delhi-based designers Rimple and Harpreet Narula for his upcoming next film Padmavati.
“Working in tandem with Mr Bhansali’s vision we have gone through a vast library of reference material, old documents and manuscripts as well as ancient traveller’s accounts to come up with the looks. It has been an intensive and exhaustive process yet creatively very fulfilling as designers. Mr. Bhansali is known for his keen eye for detail, the visuals he creates on the big screen are larger than life,” delhi based designer Harpreet said .
Sources say that together the three are working on the looks that have Turkish influences as Ranveer is playing Alauddin Khilji and those renowned in the 13th century in Chittor for Deepika and Shahid’s looks. “We are very excited to be a part of this prestigious project and hope to be associated with Mr. Bhansali for many more movies to come”, delhi based designer Rimple said.
Sanjay leela Bhansali worked with Anju Modi on his last two superhits film- Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. costumes of both the films were highly appreciated and designer anju modi also won several awards. Before anju modi , the filmmaker, whose films are always high on costumes, earlier was collaborated with well-known names like Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Neeta Lulla.
For the meantime, the shooting of sanjay leela bhansali’s film Padmavati has begun. The film features gorgeous Deepika as Rani Padmavati of Chittor, while talented Ranveer will be seen playing Alauddin Khilji and Shahid plays Padmavati’s husband Rawal Ratan Singh.
